(CDSGA) stamped its dominance in the Menโ€™s Basketball Tournament of BUCAA Season 2, as they secured a shattering 81โ€“64 victory in their first match against Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) on October 9 at the STI Malolos Gymnasium.

From the opening tip, CDSGA played fiercely on both ends of the court. Their fast-paced tempo and aggressive ball movement set the tone early. Lalosa and Linquicoโ€™s offensive attacks produced a combined 13 points, helping the team edge BASC despite their spirited effort. CDSGA closed the first quarter with a slim 20โ€“17 lead.

BASC attempted to find their rhythm in the second quarter, as they stepped up on defense with Bunagan altering several shots. However, CDSGA tightened their defensive tactics. Torres began to assert himself, sinking three consecutive three-pointers, while Magsisi contributed 11 points, maintaining a commanding 47โ€“37 advantage by halftime.

The third quarter highlighted strategic adjustments from both teams. Delos Reyes from BASC responded with quick layups to narrow the gap, but CDSGA held firm. Muรฑoz answered with effortless execution of mid-range shots, maintaining control that extended the lead to 62โ€“52 heading into the final quarter.

The last quarter tested both teamsโ€™ composure. Villarozaโ€™s strong presence was felt as he scored consistently and dominated the boards. Linquico also continued to deliver smooth offensive plays, effectively shutting down any hope of a comeback. Despite efforts from Delos Reyes and Palamares to shift the momentum, missed shots and crucial turnovers sealed BASCโ€™s fate.

With this victory, CDSGA opens their BUCAA Season 2 with an impressive 1โ€“0 record, marking a promising start to the tournament.
